Our Air Lubrication System (ALS) fundamentally changes the interaction between water and a vessel’s hull, creating a carpet of microbubbles that coats the flat bottom of a vessel. As a result, frictional resistance is reduced – dramatically improving a vessel’s fuel consumption and associated emissions.Air Lubrication is a strategic efficiency technology enabling significant savings, improved vessel performance and significant reduction of harmful emissions. The technology is suited to large full-bodied vessels and can be installed as a retrofit or during new buildings with an addressable market of 12,000 existing vessels and new tonnage.After a series of successful deployments, the company is experiencing a significant increase in activity as more ship owners/terers adopt the system on their vessels. With both retrofit and newbuild projects on order we are expanding our team and recruiting high calibre people to join our dynamic team on our exciting journey of rapid growth. This now includes the development of regional presence in China in addition to our UK based business.Silverstream Technologies is pleased to have innovative sector leaders as key customers including Shell, Carnival, Grimaldi, Maersk, Meyer Werft and Vale.Role Summary:Reporting to the Regional Supply Chain Manager the role will be primarily responsible for ensuring that supplied product quality meets contractual and customer requirements, by ensuring effective quality oversight, problem resolution and continuous improvement programs with our suppliers.Key Responsibilities:· Support suppliers in ensuring compliance with Silverstream Technologies requirements.· Ensure suppliers robustly apply problem resolution process and non-conformance management.· Ensure suitable undeclared non-conformance containment activity at the supplier, in transit and at customer locations.· Witness the inspection of product and manage Factory Acceptance Tests at supplier premises.· Audit supplier processes as applicable to ensure robust manufacturing and measurement methods.· Support ion and assessment of new supplier capability.· Analyse data and information on supplier’s performance and identify improvement opportunities.Skills, Qualifications, Experience &ampamp acteristics:· Degree qualified in a relevant Engineering discipline.· Minimum of 3 years experience in the Marine industry.· Experience of dealing with Classification Societies.· Knowledge of shipyards and hull structures, with knowledge of yards outside of China desirable.· Experience of supply chain management.· Experience of marine steel fabrications, experience of electrical automation is desirable.· Experience in application of basic Quality Improvement tools.· Understanding of Inspection and Quality Control processes.· English Language to IELTS 5.0.This role will be based in our Shanghai office (Pudong), with extensive in-country travel to suppliers and shipyards, and occasional overseas travel.
