Mackay currently has an opening for an experienced Project Manager in our Shanghai China location. The ideal candidate must be highly proficient in AutoCAD, have direct experience in the maritime industry, communicate in English, and have the experience, skills, and qualifications listed below.
PROJECT MANAGER JOB SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility of the Project Manager is to manage and see-through fruition, that captured maritime projects assigned to him/her are delivered on time, complete, and within budget. The Project Manager will collaborate with the various teams on projects inception through completion and support existing applications. Performs strategic reviews, requirements analysis, technology evaluation, solution architecture and application implementation are all a critical part of this position. Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this opportunity, as are a strong sense of ownership and a drive to improve existing systems and processes.
PROJECT MANAGER GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Exercise functional authority for planning, organization, control, and completion of designated project within area of assigned responsibility:
o Plan and formulate program and organize project staff according to project requirements.
o Perform tasks directed at specific phases or aspects of project, such as review and understanding of purchase specifics, order terms and conditions, coordinate vendors, review product design, and oversee and participate in preparation of product testing proposed plans and actual product testing in accordance with project requirements.
o Review product and vendors for compliance with specifications, company standards, customer contract requirements and regulatory standards.
o Coordinate activities concerned with technical development, scheduling, and assist resolving engineering design and test problems.
o Direct integration of customer, vendors, purchasing, shipping, forklift, receiving, managing inventory and accounting.
o Evaluate and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of designated projects to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters:
o Review project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
o Establish work plan and staffing for each phase of project and arrange for recruitment or assignment of project personnel. Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget.
o Confer with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
o Direct and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
o Prepare status reports and modify schedules or plans as required.
o Prepare project reports for management, client, or others.
o Confer with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
o Prepare interim and completion project reports.

Project Manager Qualifications:
• Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English is required.
• 3+ Years ' experience as Project Manager
• 3+ Years ' experience in Maritime Operations
• Experience in Marine Electronics, specifically Navigation, Communication, Engine Room Automation and Below Deck equipment.
• AutoCAD (highly proficient).
• Knowledge of IMO, Solas and Class Society Regulations.
• Operational experience/working knowledge of bid/quoting process in the maritime sector.
• Ability to read electrical schematics/blueprints
• Bachelor’s Degree in maritime operations or similar an accredited college or university preferred.
